Welcome to the Canterbury Equine Clinic. Located on the Eastern coast of the South Island of New Zealand, on the outskirts of Christchurch city, the Canterbury Equine Clinic is a progressive, 100% equine facility providing the highest quality veterinary services. Our clinic has developed over the last 25 years and has earned a national and international reputation by continually providing outstanding care for our patients.

We have a fully equipped equine hospital including a spacious stable area, yards and paddocks on three hectares of land. Although our clientele range from champion thoroughbred and standardbred race horses to much loved pleasure horses and ponies, we provide equal enthusiasm and dedication to each individual case and pride ourselves in returning all of our patients to their full potential in health and performance.

We enjoy a large referral component with over 80 veterinarians throughout the South Island regularly forwarding cases. Our veterinarians make ambulatory calls, provide in-house lameness and medical diagnosis and offer full surgical capabilities, carrying out over 220 surgeries annually in our air conditioned surgical theatre. Our surgical caseload varies widely and includes respiratory, abdominal (colic) and orthopaedic, with a large arthroscopy component. We are the only equine facility in the South Island to provide scintigraphy (bone scanning) as a diagnostic tool.
